In the earliest months and years of life, families are often trying to do everything they can during a period of rapid brain development and neuroplasticity. Many pursue intensive therapies, restorative interventions, and neurorehabilitative care in the hope of giving their child the strongest possible foundation for the future.

But almost none of this is covered by insurance.

Families are left to face staggering costs on top of everything else they are already carrying: the trauma of birth injury, long hospital stays, lost income, travel, caregiving demands, and the uncertainty of not knowing which options are safe, credible, or even financially possible.

Shiva in Motion exists because no family should lose access to promising care simply because help came too late or not at all.

A donation to Shiva in Motion helps families act when timing may matter most.

For a child with a serious neurological injury, early access can mean the difference between watching a narrow window pass and being able to pursue care while that window is still open. Families should not have to choose between their child’s future and their financial survival.

Your support helps make possible:

  • direct grants for families pursuing medically supervised restorative and neurorehabilitative care
  • access to therapies and interventions often excluded from insurance coverage, including intensive rehabilitation, HBOT, stem cell-related care, and associated travel or treatment costs — all through providers meeting our written eligibility and safety standards
  • educational resources, peer support, and resource navigation for families who don’t know where to begin
  • provider eligibility review and safety standards so families can pursue care with greater confidence and accountability
  • the foundational work required to build a trustworthy, mission-driven charitable organization

What a gift makes possible

For families facing HIE, a donation is more than financial help.

It is time. It is access. It is the ability to say yes to an evaluation, a therapy block, a treatment trip, or an opportunity that insurance will not touch. It is relief in a moment of panic. It is hope paired with action.

Most of all, it is a way to help give a child a fuller chance at comfort, connection, development, and possibility.

Shiva in Motion was created by parents who know what it means to search desperately for options while the clock keeps moving. We know how overwhelming it is to realize that many of the therapies families believe may help their child are expensive, difficult to access, and rarely covered by traditional systems.

We also know that families should not have to navigate that reality alone.

This foundation exists to help bridge the gap between urgency and access—so that more children have the chance to receive meaningful support when it may matter most.
