Donor Privacy Notice
Effective date: May 1, 2026. Last updated: May 1, 2026. Donations do not involve child or family health information, so this notice is intentionally short.
Who we are
Shiva In Motion Inc. is a nonprofit corporation formed in the State of Delaware and operated for charitable and educational purposes. In this notice, “Shiva In Motion,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Shiva In Motion Inc. Our mailing address is 8 The Green, STE B, Dover, DE 19901. This notice covers donations made through our website. It does not cover the family account, child profile, grant, or case-report services, which are described in our Privacy Policy. Donation records are kept separately from family accounts and are not linked to any family’s account or child profile.
Information we collect when you donate
- Your email address, which we use to send your receipt and, if you choose, program updates.
- Your name, if the card you use provides it.
- Your donation amount, currency, and the purpose you selected.
- A receipt number and references that identify your payment with our payment processor.
- Your choice about whether you want to receive updates, and the time you made that choice.
We do not collect or store your card number. Your payment is handled directly by a third-party payment processor, which you complete at its checkout. We receive only a reference to the completed payment, not your full card information.
How we use your information
We use your information to process your donation, send you a receipt, keep the accounting records a nonprofit is required to keep, prevent fraudulent or duplicate charges, and, only if you opt in, send you program updates. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or unrelated profiling.
Program updates are optional
Program updates are optional. We send them only if you check the box to opt in when you donate. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any update email or by emailing shailin@shivainmotion.org. Unsubscribing does not affect your donation or your receipt.
Service providers
We use service providers to accept donations and to run the website. They process only what they need for their function and may not use your information for their own advertising, sale, or unrelated profiling.

Tax treatment
Shiva In Motion Inc. is organized as a nonprofit corporation for charitable and educational purposes. Our application for federal tax-exempt recognition under Section 501(c)(3) is pending, and a determination has not yet been issued. Until it is, we do not represent that your donation is tax-deductible. Your receipt confirms your donation, states that no goods or services were provided in exchange, and notes that a determination has not yet been issued, so the donation may not be tax-deductible at this time. We will update this notice and our receipts if that status changes.
Your choices and rights
Subject to verification and applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct, or delete your donor information, and you may unsubscribe from updates at any time. Some information must be kept for accounting, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes even after you unsubscribe. To make a request, email our Data Privacy Officer, Shailin Dhar, at shailin@shivainmotion.org. We aim to respond within 45 days, or within the period the law that applies to you requires. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights and the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
International donors
Shiva In Motion is based in the United States, and our providers process information in the United States. If you donate from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We are finalizing the specific transfer mechanisms for the United Kingdom, the European Union, and other regions during the fourth quarter of 2026, and we will update this notice when that work is complete.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. We will post the updated notice with a new effective date.
